Tree Sprites

Free Tree Sprites in PNG format, for 2D and 3D use. 

Especially useful for particle forests in an realistic art style.

You can use theese sprites for free in your own projects, like games, art or videos, and edit them.

The 30 Tree sprites come in groups of 3 resembling variants of the same tree. 

Two seperate sprites of one group can be used to make cross plane (non-facing) billboards in a 3D world.

In 2D worlds, use the sprites directly.

In realistic scenes, they can be used for particle-forests in the background. Some images here show Blender scenes doing that. Note, theese are CGI renders, and not realtime. 

The Groups are:

• Conifers:     A, B, C
• Hardwood:    D, E, F
• Birch:       G, H,
• Dead/Winter:   I, J

For realistic scenes conifers and hardwood should each form clusters, while hardwood has dead wood mixed in.

The typical artficial conifer forest is dense and has a brown floor. Natural conifer forest (Taiga) is more sparse and has moss covered floor. Birches grow in extreme places like swamps, bogs or near roads and rivers or on poluted or overfertilized soil. Conifers like it dry and don't grow near rivers, but in the mountains.

The Sprites themselves were made with Blender.
